Kevin Durant, when not appearing on the court, is definitely playing off it. His step back jumpers and those tweets are equally lethal for anyone messing with the giant power forward. The Brooklyn Nets star is not somebody who will take the trash on his ideas and not retaliate, given he has time and a functioning thumb to work the tweets.
Recently, he picked his All-time roster and chose 11 players, apart from him, from different eras. The choices, especially that of Lakers’ Anthony Davis, picked heat and criticism began flowing for the selection. That’s when KD came out in AD’s defense.
Kevin Durant covered for Lakers’ Anthony Davis
KD is a rare personality that has more tweets made than points gained in his decade-long career. So if a tweet has the power to provoke him, the chances are high that there will come a witty response to it.
So when a fan expressed his own preferences over going for AD, Kevin Durant responded back. In a way, the 32-YO picked the Lakers center-forward over Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, and Larry Bird, among others with crisp reasoning. Take a look at their back-and-forth –
He later shut a hater by calling him a “stat guy” and delivering that message in a way that made stats appear too overrated. Check it out –
Against KD, the other personality to choose an All-time team was Nick Wright. Being a sports radio talk show host, Nick picked a balanced roster with KD on the bench and Tim Duncan replacing him on the starting five. Even though Durant’s choice of Tracy McGrady was surprising, ESPN analyst Kirk Goldsberry took a dig at KD for not considering Tim’s name on his list.

When Brooklyn Nets star omitted Russell Westbrook from his list
Kevin Durant’s choice of Anthony Davis made sense. The 28-YO AD has never been a great three-point shooter, but he’s good at attacking shooters using his long arms. His man-to-man defense and floor spacing make him one of the top 5 power forwards in the current season. Moreover, KD’s retweet to poke fun at Steph Curry for dropping bombs over brother Seth Curry was also entertaining to consume.
However, what was tough to believe was the Slim Reaper almost missing out on Russell Westbrook from his coveted list. While counting his 13-year career’s top five teammates, the 6’10” athlete named Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Serge Ibaka, in that order. It was only after the show’s host made KD realize he missed out on an important name, that he mentioned Russ.
Well, that’s KD for you, a straightforward, true-to-heart, and genuine human being. Do you like him for this side of his? Help us know what you think in the comments below.
